Another morning routine for you guys!! Kev and I got to sleep in just a tad on this beautiful mornin☀️Products mentioned:Fresh Kombucha . However, I would say if you do a lot of graphic design or excel work (anything with a lot of straight lines) to probably avoid this monitor because straight lines that run close to the edge of the monitor does look weird.3. But after a week, I barely notice it anymore it doesn’t affect what I do on the computer. It is definitely noticeable and it does feel a little ‘off’ for a few days. I’m kinda neutral with the curve at this point outside of games. I feel like I have better visual on peripheral hud etc. It makes the monitor feel a little smaller than it actually is in a good way. I can play games in total darkness with no issues.

This is in contrast with the LG monitor where I could see a very distracting BLB in both desktop and games.
#Odyssey g7 vs lg 27gl850 windows
There is a tiny amount of BLB in the black screen test but as soon as you start a game or have windows open it is unnoticeable. The one I got doesn’t have any flickering issues. I can’t get over how terrible this monitor looks at night and since I usually use my computer in a darker room it just wasn’t a good fit. I decided to buy the g7 to try out and just return it if I couldn’t get use to the curve.įast forward a week and I’m returning the LG. Slept on it and decided that the colors of the monitor were too good to pass just because of the curve. Again, I’m not a monitor guru but the best way I can describe the colors is it feels like looking at a big iPhone. Easily one of the brightest and best color in my eyes of any monitor in the store. However, the colors to me looked fantastic. It literally stands out like a sore thumb because of the massive curve. I was actually looking at the predator line when I noticed the g7 display. I went to micro center and saw a 27gl850 in the store and it looked just as washed out with trash colors like the one I had at home. I spent a few days trying to troubleshoot and decided maybe high contrast was what I actually preferred and decided to not be an idiot and go to the store this time instead of blindly taking people’s advice on a subreddit. All the colors looked ‘off’ and I felt everything was washed out all the time. I was kinda shocked when I actually got the monitor because I thought the colors looked like garbage. I originally bought the 27gl850 because every other post on this subreddit is praising this monitor. I just kinda go with what looks better to my eyes. So quick disclaimer.I’m not a monitor guru like you guys. The fact that the monitor latency is still good at around 60 fps is what me make really want to try it.

I have never tried a curved monitor but the 27 inches version is easy to adapt to from what i have heard. I am very tempted by the 240Hz screen offered by the G7 and the display colors are superbs too (maybe even better due to good contrast?). The display is still amazing to look at tho. Last issue, i feel like the monitor colors are too saturated and none of the colors options make it that much better. The second issue is the poor contrast ratio as well as the blacks (looks more like grey). I understand that's something very likely on IPS monitors that's why i wanted to change. There are indeed some things i don't like on the LG GL850, first is the backlight bleed.
